The Baobab: a Madagascar tree!

Do you know there are more baobab species in Madagascar than the rest of Africa? “Of the nine species, six are native to Madagascar, two are native to mainland Africa and the Arabian Peninsula, and one is native to Australia. One of the mainland African species also occurs on Madagascar, but it is not a native of that island.”

The Tsingys tour offer many opportunities to admire these mighty trees, so right. One is 22m large and said to be 1700 years old.
Before reaching Morondava, we enjoy the famous“Allée des baobabs”.
