It is an Indo-European language and while written with Arabic alphabet, it is not related to Arabic at all.<\/p>\n<p>It was funny to me to hear some words that sound very similar to French.\u00a0 French used to be the 1<sup>st<\/sup> foreign language 70 years ago. Many word in Farsi come from French: merci, terrasse, commode, rouge for the lipstick, rose for the flower, some countries like Autriche, Allemand, etc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The language spoken in Iran is called Farsi or Persian.
