From Cape to Cape (Good Hope to Agulhas)

Touring South Africa on bicycle is not that easy: this is quite a new and empty country, so distances between towns can be over 100km, my day limit with my paniers. So you have to think about your route!
My first target is to take the coastal road to reach the most southern point of Africa: Cape Agulhas!
From Simon’s Town, I however go first to Stellenbosch and then down to the nice coastal road and stop in Kleimond, a lovely town between two lagunes. Next leg is quite short, I follow the recommendation of Klem, my WS host in Kleinmond to stay in the lovely Hermanus and go only the day after in the morning to Gansbaai, the place to see the white sharks in action! Not scary but the water is darm cold (12C) when you stand in that cage waiting for the shark to ‘dive’a few seconds to see it passing along. A nice shot from the boat:

The leg between Gansbaai and Stransbaai/Agulhas is quite long (ca 100km) and partially on a bumpy gravel road destroyed by trucks: not so much fun with the paniers when it is also raining!
Anyway, here am I finally on that ‘most southern tip of Africa’ which officially split the Atlantic from the Indian Ocean, so you can swim in 2 oceans on the same day! P1100060
